BikeGold Camp Road – Colorado Springs Guided Mountain Bike Tour
Follow A Historic Railway Trail Through the Colorado Springs Wilderness
Our Bike Gold Camp Mountain Biking Tour package offers an opportunity to combine the wilderness experience with a tour of a 1800s locomotive railway in Colorado Springs. This historic gold mining railway line takes you through the Cheyenne Canyon area. Cutting through the rugged terrain of the trail, you will get to enjoy magnificent views of the area and even bike through old tunnels.
This bike tour begins at the Pikes Peak Bike Tour shop from which we drive you to the start of the trail. You will be kitted out with all necessary mountain biking gear and provided with a route map. You can opt to bring along a backpack with snacks to enjoy during your descent back to the shop.
The gravel path, that was previously the railway track, is well suited for most riders. It meanders around the canyon, taking riders through stunning wild terrain. There are many spots you can stop to enjoy magnificent views of the Colorado Springs landscape and take a breather.
New for 2021: This tour is now fully guided. Your guide will show you the best picture stops, take pictures for you, and provide a snack for you on your way down. Take yourself on an adventure ride filled with beauty and remnants of a bygone era.
This tour is not on Pikes Peak.
This tour is available for Corporate or large groups up to 30 participants. Contact us for pricing and availability
A completely independent alternative to our “Bike Pikes Peak” tour, this fully guided exploration tour follows Colorado Springs’ Gold Camp Road, a historic 1800’s era mountain locomotive railway. This spectacular three to four hour downhill route attraction traverses a vast canyon wall, passes through several exciting railroad tunnels and offers unforgettable vistas around every bend.
A well-established gravel path meanders through wild and primitive terrain throughout the ride. We provide all necessary equipment, including mountain transport and an easy-to-follow route map to return you safely back to our base shop.
This mountain bike attraction starts at the bike shop and is great for families, large group excursions, and newlyweds (and oldlyweds!) who just want to get away from it all. Stop where you want, when you want, and take as long as you want. It’s all up to you!
Daily rides leave at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Please arrive 30 minutes to check in.

If I could give ten stars …I would. Everyone very accomodating and helpful. They bent over backwards to make sure it was a ride that we would never forget. Scott, our guide to starting point very helpful. I would highly recommend doing the Gold Camp Road self guided ride. We had an awesome experience. – Mike Fischer
Gold camp was awesome for a mild offroad experience through very scenic mountain passes. Highly recommend these guys for top notch equipment and experience. – A.T.
I booked the Bike Gold Camp for my family. This was a great experience for all of us. The trail is easy to navigate and is great since you can do it at your own pace. Scott did a great job of briefing us what to expect before we got started. He also checked up on us throughout the ride. I would highly recommend using these guys and trying one of their tours. You won’t be disappointed. – Anthony Wallis
Me and my husband did the Bike Gold Camp and it was amazing!!! Scott was so friendly and knowledgeable. Right when we arrived he had everything ready to go. He drove us up the mountain and we had great conversation. He gave us clear instructions and met us at the points he mentioned. The views were spectacular and biking down the mountain was super fun. It’s even great for beginner mountain bikers. We did the Captain Jack trail which was a little challenging but so much fun! I highly recommend! Totally worth doing if you’re in Colorado Springs. We will definitely do it again with this company! – Natalie Shipp
Highly recommend whether it’s your first time riding or you’re a seasoned vet. I did the Gold Camp Road tour and it was awesome!!! It’s worth it for the views alone. You can also catch other MTB trails on your way down. I recommend Captain Jacks and the chutes. – J. Silva
